Your prayers wanted

The Methodist Prayer Handbook is looking for prayers of up to 100 words. The title of next year’s handbook is Each Returning Day, which covers times of day, times of life, the seasons, birth and death, youth and maturity and life’s pilgrimage. Each Returning Day comes from John Keble’s hymn, New every morning (Hymns & Psalms 636).

Please send contributions to the editor by 31 March 2009. Any submissions up until Easter will be considered, but the earlier ones stand a better chance of being included. In particular prayers for specific countries are more likely to be published!

If you have photos or illustrations (your own copyright) to enhance your prayer, send these too. For more details of where to send your prayers please contact Barbara Murray in the office.

Women’s Network   Easter Offering Appeal 2009

On Palm Sunday (April 5th) and Easter Day envelopes will be distributed for the E.O. contributions.  May we, yet again, appeal for your support in giving as generously as you are able.  This is one time for everyone's help in

raising money for Network - mainly this comes solely from women’s efforts and goes to World Mission also to projects in our own country.  If you are a U.K taxpayer and would like to Gift Aid your donation please sign the back of the envelope.  This will allow the church to reclaim tax on your donation - at no extra cost to you.

‘Thumbs Up award’ Goes to the Emmaus Crew

The Emmaus Crew feature in a booklet called ‘For the Record’ recently produced by a group from Telford and Wrekin to highlight the contribution being made by the young people to the community.  A copy is on the table in the hall.  We were invited to a special evening last

Monday at The Place Oakengates when awards were given in each category.  Emmaus won their category and received the award for Making a Positive Contribution to the Community.  We were surprised but delighted and pleased to think that our young people are recognised by the wider community.  Well done to everyone.

We couldn’t do all that we have done without your support.  Thanks

Mary Lewis and Barbara Murray for the Emmaus Crew
