Sunday30th May ( Trinity Sunday)
10.15 a.m Morning Worship - Rev Peter Clarke
Loving Lord, in the past we often sang 'We
shall overcome', but deep in our hearts we didn't always believe that we would.
But now Lord, the Berlin Wall has come down, apartheid has been abolished in
South Africa, and Barack Obama has become the USA's first black president; all
things which, in the past, we thought would be impossible. Thank you, thank
you, thank you for all these proofs that you are the Lord of our history. Help
us, like William Carey to 'expect great things from God and attempt great
things for God'. So may worldwide poverty be abolished, war-making be replaced
by peace-keeping, and global warming be brought under control. And may your kingdom
come and your will be done here on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
