Prayer for changing of the seasons

Creator God,

on this day of the month we are reminded that the seasons move,

from summer to autumn, from winter to spring.

As I see the signs of death,

so others elsewhere in this world see new life.

In my times of joy may I perceive others in sorrow,

in my sadness may I recognise another’s happiness.

May we all know your unchanging presence,

whatever the day or the season

in the year or in life.

In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen

Paul Davis, Synod Secretary, North Lancashire District

WEA Art Course

The Workers’ Educational Association will be putting on an Art Course for us starting on April 27th from 2.00-4.00 pm for ten weeks. This will be at the time of our usual Art Group. It is part of their Active Retirement Programme for anyone over 50 and it is free. If you are under 50 and would like to attend then please contact me. You are expected to have or buy your own art materials. If you are interested then please let me have your name as soon as possible.                                                                                         Barbara Murray

WEA CRAFT COURSE .. SILK PAINTING

Starting on Monday 26th April from 2.00-4.00 pm there will be a craft course organised by the Workers’ Educational Association. The first five weeks will be silk painting and then there will be opportunity to continue either with silk painting or a different craft for another five weeks. This course is offered free under their Active Retirement Programme. There will be a small weekly charge for materials but this will be kept to a minimum as far as possible. We need a minimum number of 8 people and the maximum number is 15. I expect the uptake for this to be high so it will be on a first come first served basis. Please contact me as soon as possible if you would like to attend.
