Meet the President!!!

At 7.30 pm on Thursday 23rd Nov. at Dawley Christian Centre there is an opportunity to meet the President Revd.  Graham Carter the topic for the evening will be Exploring Discipleship

Churches Together

 Friday 1st December at 5.30pm voices are required for Carol Singing when the lights are switched on in the Square in Wellington. Sunday 3rd December at 6.00 pm an Advent Service at our Church please do your best to support this event.

Coffee Evening 

The Brownies are holding a Coffee Evening on 27 November from 6 until 7.15 pm in aid of Church Funds

Prayer Meeting

The prayer meeting will be held again this Sunday (third Sunday in the month) at 9-45am in the ministers office.  Please do join the group in this new and important venture.  All welcome.

 

CONCERT BY HAYLEY WESTENRA, ST. GEORGES CHURCH, TELFORD

SATURDAY DECEMBER 2ND at 7.30pm

At very short notice, St. Georges are delighted to have the opportunity to host an intimate concert by the established young singer, Hayley Westenra before she returns home to New Zealand for Christmas. Fresh from the Albert Hall and Songs of Praise, and from a sell-out concert at Canterbury Cathedral, Hayley will be performing some of her best loved songs and arias from her latest album Odyssey.

Tickets will be £17.50 each, available from Oakengates Theatre at The Place, Oakengates very shortly.

Building Fund News 

Two concerts to look forward to in December. The first is on Saturday 2nd and will feature ‘Temponilla’ and the Jade Singers. Adults £3.  Concessions £2.The second one is on the 9th and will be given by the Telford Orchestra (this is extra to the list) Adults £4 Children £3.  Both begin at 7.30 and will feature Seasonal Music.  Put them in your diary now.

Last orders for ‘Chocoholics’ will be November 27th.  Please get your order in quickly.

We   are now   planning our Spring /Summer programme.  If you have any suggestions as to new events we could include, or old ones you would like repeated, please put them in the suggestion box or see Tina.

 Christmas Fayre

Donations to any stall would be appreciated.  Please have a look and contact the stallholder to arrange collection.  Don’t forget to think about the cakes and savouries stall the next time you are baking.  If you have any items suitable for a ‘Christmas Hamper’ please give them to Tina.

 What do I believe?

Two meetings at New College on 21st and 28th November at 6.30pm for 7.00pm start on the 21st a Christian, Muslim, Jew and Quaker 28th a Sikh, Hindu and Bahia.  They will each outline their Faith followed by an opportunity for questions and answers.  Refreshments will be served and the evening will finish at about 8.30pm

 Mayors Civic Carol Service

At St. Patrick's Church King Street accompanied by Wellington Brass Band will be on Thursday 7th December.  There will be a collection for the Kip Project.  Please let Peter know for numbers if you are planning to attend

 Porthywaen Silver Band

 Thank  you Tina  for  a  lovely evening on the 4th November.  The band was brilliant and I hope they can come to entertain us again sometime in the future.

 Samaritan Shoe Box Appeal

 Thank you for your support of the Samaritan Shoe Box Appeal.  A very special thank you to all the ladies & gentlemen who ran the Coffee Morning & stall raising the amazing sum of £129 plus £17 to Church Funds.  On Thursday morning we shall be sending 100 boxes some with cheques in and a further cheque for £206. 

Brownies also have been working to produce 20 boxes
