The Chainbreakers

On Thursday 16th October here at

Wellington Methodist Church at 7.00pm 

Two hundred years ago the British were the world’s leaders in the slave trade. The fight to abolish this horrific practice is a gripping story of persistence, self sacrifice and courage. From the trading cities of Liverpool and Bristol and the hallowed chambers of the House of Commons to the fiery hell of the Jamaican slave rebellion ‘The  Chainbreakers’ is a fast paced journey through the turbulent history of the  battle for abolition. Brought to the stage by  the  writers  and  performers of  the  Saltmine Creative Arts, this production is presented in support of the ‘Stop theTraffik‘ campaign.

Admission is by ticket only and these are available from Wellington Civic

Office. There are only a limited number of tickets so get yours now.

 

Church Membership 

There will be a Membership Service on 21st September if anyone would like to become a member of church there will be a meeting at church on Thursday 14th August at 7pm. 

If anybody cannot make that date please let Peter know

Living Fire 

Copies of the new Prayer Handbook are now available from Barbara Murray price £2.75.  This is an excellent handy book of daily prayer which can be used for personal prayer or for use on other occasions such as meetings.

Computers for the Terrified 

If you would be interested in attending a Computers for the terrified course or another kind of computer course here at church, would you please let me know as soon as possible.  There is a possibility that TCAT may be able to run one or more courses for us here at church but I need some idea of how many people would be interested.

ADHD Course

Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder 

TCAT have offered to do a taster course to help us understand more about ADHD on Monday 15th September from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon in the fellowship room.  This is open to everyone.  If sufficient people attend the taster session then there is the possibility of setting up a course.  If you would like more details please talk to Barbara Murray.
