Our first meeting took place on Thursday 17^th May after Food for Thought with a turnout of seven.  Several apologies were received so hopefully next time we’ll be a full house.  First thing on the agenda was to choose a name and so ‘The Green Team’ was born.

Areas that were nominated as our first projects included:

J To improve our recycling.

J To acquire a bicycle rack.

J To switch to green electricity.

J To consider the environmental policy of our bank.

J To hold a Fair Trade fashion show.

J To purchase recycled paper in the office.

J To use environmentally friendly cleaning products.

Anyone wishing to join in or to just take part in some our activities will be very welcome.   

We hope to publish a monthly newsletter and to obtain a notice board to keep you fully informed of our progress and also with relevant information.  We will also try to add a link on our website: www.wellingtonmethodistchurch.co.uk

There is an information pack available for anyone running children’s groups giving ideas on activities and work with an environmental element.  Perhaps this could grow into a young person’s branch of ‘The Green Team’!

The date of the next meeting is yet to be decided but a notice will appear in the weekly newsletter.
